The summer is the time for holidays and fun for students. But they can also use it to learn something new, interesting and useful. HRC Culinary Academy starts a special summer culinary school for teenagers between 10 and 17 years of age.

They will cook together every day from Monday to Friday. They will get personal attention and guidelines on how to prepare different types of meals, participate in the process of preparing, cooking and serving. They will learn the secrets of menu composition and working in a team.

The summer culinary school will show the teenagers that cooking is fun and interesting. It could be also the first step in their future career in Culinary Arts.

The price for participation is 400 BGN/per week. One day participation is also possible for the price of 80 BGN.

DAY 1-2 

‘Eastern european cuisine” 

DAY 1 

  • Breakfast – banitza  
  • Lunch – Polish Pirogi 
  • Afternoon snack – donut holes  

Extra activities:

  • Tea: What is it, and various ways to prepare it.
  • How to serve tea to guests.

DAY 2 

  • Breakfast – Frika (Slovenian omelette) 
  • Lunch  Hungarian goulash  
  • Afternoon snack – Mandelbrot cookies  

Extra activities:

  • Service basics: How to prepare a table formally and informally
  • Lunch table setup
  • Dinner table setup

DAY 3-4  

‘Mediterranean cuisine’ 

DAY 3  

  • Breakfast – French toast 
  • Lunch – Falafel with yogurt sauce 
  • Afternoon snack – savory white cheese ‘croissants’  

Extra activities:

  • Dining etiquette

DAY 4 

  • Breakfast – Crepes 
  • Lunch – Chicken wit artichoke and tomato sauce
  • Afternoon snack – Baklava 

Extra activities:

  • Different types of glassware and how to serve drinks

DAY 5 

‘STREET FOOD FRIDAY’ 

  • Croissant sandwich 
  • Hot Dogs 
  • Fruit sorbet  

Extra activites:

  • Preparing virgin cocktails and methods on how to infuse water
