Our competition for a special scholarship of up to 2000 EUR is now open!
You can submit your application not later than March 5, 2018.
The theme of the contest is 'Go Green'. We expect you to present your own recipe based on the idea and principles of the eco-friendly cooking, cutting down on time, energy, expensive products and briefly describe what principles you have chosen, why you chose them and how you could encourage green practices at your workplace (if you are working in a kitchen) or in your everyday life.
The contest is organized in two parts - presenting a recipe and writing an essay.
Part I – The Recipe – forms 50% of the grade
The recipe must be presented in a way that clearly shows your personal contribution. It is up to you to decide, if you want to make a video, prepare a presentation, take pictures of the development steps or find other creative ways to present your recipe as detailed as possible.
The Recipe will be graded as follows: Theme (10%), Presentation/Media (30%), Recipe/Techniques (10%), Enthusiasm/Motivation (30%) and Originality (20%).
Just as a hint, we have experienced that videos can be very influential and the more visuals your application has, the more interesting it becomes.
Part II – The Essay – forms 50% of your grade
The essay should be on the following topic "Everyday Green Cooking".
You should further describe your reasons and motivation to choose the specific recipe and discuss which of the green cooking principles have you decided to use and why. You will get bonus points if you share your ideas on how to encourage green practices at your workplace (if you are working in a kitchen) or in your everyday life.
The better you explain your motivation and arguments, the closer you will be to winning the scholarship contest. The essay, as well as the recipe must be written in English.
The essay should be up to 700 words and not shorter than 350 words.
The essay will be graded as follows: Topic/ Interpretation of the given topic (10%), Enthusiasm/Motivation (20%), Originality (20%) and Writing skills (50%).
To be fair, we will give you 50% for the first part and 50% for the second part. This way, no matter if you are more into writing, or more into cooking and presenting your masterpiece, you still have equal chances to get to the top.
Please, send your materials to info@hrcacademy.com, if your files are too big, feel free to use any file transfer service convenient to you (for example - dropbox, google drive, wetransfer.com, youtube.com (just for your video), etc.).
Deadline for sending your application is March 5, 2018 and the results will be announced after the opening of the new semester on March 12, 2018. Please make sure to submit your application for the Culinary Arts degree program as well, otherwise you risk missing the deadline for enrollment and respectively the chance to take advantage of the scholarship, as it can be granted to accepted students only. Both from and outside the EU interested in March and September 2018 intakes are eligible to participate in the competition.
Good luck and cook your heart out!
