The Return of the Social Media Scholarship

The Social Media Scholarship Contest returned this semester as part of the HRC Foundation’s ongoing mission to support and spotlight student talent in innovative ways. Launched to reflect the digital habits of today’s culinary students – many of whom are part of Gen Z – the contest encourages participants to document their educational journey creatively and authentically on social media. The goal is to promote self-expression, digital storytelling, and engagement with the broader culinary community, while also rewarding consistency, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for the craft.

Mariia Shcherbakova Wins the Social Media Scholarship

We are pleased to announce that Mariia Shcherbakova, a first-semester student from our Culinary Arts Program, has been selected as the winner of the €250 Social Media Scholarship for her outstanding participation and creative digital engagement.

Mariia stood out for her ability to blend professional growth with authenticity and humor. Her posts reflected both her technical development in the kitchen and her enthusiasm for sharing that journey with others. Her unique voice, combined with consistent and engaging content, made a lasting impression on the panel.

The competition was open to first-semester students taking part in the Pastry & Baking Module at HRC Culinary Academy. To qualify, students were required to post daily Instagram Stories and share at least one video or photo post each week over the course of the 7-week program.

We were thrilled to receive a wide range of creative and original entries from our students. Their enthusiasm and engagement exceeded expectations, and we are proud of the vibrant storytelling and talent displayed across the board.

The HRC Foundation is proud to support students like Mariia who demonstrate initiative, talent, and a willingness to engage with their craft beyond the classroom. This scholarship is part of our broader mission to empower aspiring chefs by providing both financial support and recognition for their dedication.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Mariia and look forward to following her continued success in the culinary world.
