Another 2 groups of HRC Academy students are gaining international culinary experience on 4 continents: Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. Internships are an integral part of their program: Semester 2 of the Academy curriculum sends students on paid industry placements in Europe, Middle East and South Africa, while Semester 4 takes our students to USA and worldwide paid pre-employment internships.
Where are our students now? Let us reveal some of the destinations:
Internships
Netherlands: In the capital Amsterdam, in Noordwijk, Maastricht or Zeeland province our students practice at some of the finest Dutch properties under the supervision of professional culinary staff. Facing the culinary challenge at Okura Hotel, Park Hotel Amsterdam or De L’Europe in the vibrant capital city, mastering cooking in front of the guests at the elegant Harry’s Beaumont restaurant in Maastricht, learning to create superb gastronomic experience at Chateau St. Gerlach or in the diverse culinary outlets we partner with in the Netherlands, is a unique chance for Academy students.
Portugal: a new destination for HRC Academy interns, where right now 4 students train at the Ritz Carlton branded Penha Longa Hotel & Golf.
Qatar: W Doha Hotel & Residences is the first hotel of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide chain in the Middle East. The outstanding property was recently awarded for 2013 Middle East's Leading Hotel Residences. The remarkable culinary concepts of chef Jean-Georges’ Market and Spice Market currently accommodate two HRC Academy 2nd semester students.
South Africa: Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre is located over 46 acres of land, known as South Africa’s largest Independent Hotel & Conference Centre capable of hosting over 5 000 delegates on property at a time.
USA: The 4th semester at HRC Culinary Academy is the time for the pre-employment experience of our students, when leading hospitality properties become their training location for 5 to 12 months.
At some of the well-known Marlon Abela Restaurant Corp (MARC) restaurants our students learn how dining inspires and delights all the senses. A Voce restaurant by MARC is a Michelin Starred Italian Restaurant in NYC that celebrates the simple pleasures of Italian cooking in a welcoming, sophisticated and modern oasis.
Training at Hilton McLean Tysons Corner in Virginia and their Härth restaurant is another great opportunity for HRC Academy students. Härth restaurant has the recognition of Restaurant of the Year by the McLean Chamber of Commerce and one of the area’s top 50 restaurants.
Many more locations accommodate HRC Academy students right now, each one with its culinary uniqueness and demanding professional environment. What unites all of the diverse placements of our culinary students is the continuous learning experience on how to dedicate more than 100% of yourself in following your passion for culinary arts and pursuing the career of a Chef.
