The Sustainable Future of Culinary Education

22/04/2026

At HRC Culinary Academy, we believe the role of the modern chef goes far beyond the kitchen. It carries responsibility toward ingredients, people, and the environment.

Providing high-quality, forward-thinking education is at the core of what we do. Our goal is to equip future culinary professionals not only with technical skills, but with the awareness and mindset needed to shape a more sustainable industry.

In this context, we are proud to share that our instructor, Chef Petya Tsankova, has earned two internationally recognized certifications by Worldchefs:

  • World Certified Culinary Educator (WCCE)
  • Feed the Planet –  Sustainability Education for Culinary Professionals (Trainer Certification)

The Feed the Planet initiative, developed by Worldchefs in collaboration with the Electrolux Food Foundation, aims to inspire sustainable change across the global food system by empowering culinary professionals with knowledge and practical tools.

These achievements reflect our commitment to continuous development, not only for our students, but also for our instructors, who play a key role in shaping the next generation of chefs.

As part of our Culinary Arts program, our first-semester students are introduced to these principles and, after completing the training, also receive the Feed the Planet sustainability certificate.

At HRC, sustainability is not a trend, it is a skill. One that is learned, practiced, and carried forward.

Because future chefs don’t just create flavors, they drive change.
