The three-day visit was filled with inspiring culinary lectures, hands-on activities and unique opportunities for students to experience the world of professional cooking

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of 12 students and 2 teachers from the “Catering” class of the Professional High School of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture “St. Georgi Pobedonosets” in Kostinbrod for the first culinary camp for students – an event that promises to become a tradition for young culinary enthusiasts.
Their three-day visit was filled with inspiring lectures, hands-on activities and unique opportunities for students to experience the world of professional cooking under the guidance of our experienced chef-instructors.
What did the three-day culinary program include?
The first day began with an official welcome to the group at the culinary academy, as well as a tour and introduction to the kitchens and facilities. This was followed by a culinary master class on tempering chocolate and making bonbons with filling, led by chef Viktorija Baltutyte. The hands-on session aimed to show the complex process of working with chocolate – from achieving the perfect shine to creating unique flavor combinations.
The second day was dedicated to traditional Bulgarian cuisine, presented in an innovative and modern way. Chef Lyuben Koychev led the culinary workshop, during which the students learned how to prepare classic poached eggs, through the lens of modern cooking, as well as what are the basic principles of food plating. The focus was on combining traditional ingredients with modern techniques, which sparked interest and inspired the young chefs to experiment with their own interpretations.
The culinary camp ended with hands-on training in our bakery. Chef Victor Svetoslavov revealed to the students the intricacies of making an authentic pizza – from the basic principles of kneading the dough to the correct toppings and baking methods.
To make the experience as comfortable as possible, the students and their teachers were accommodated in the immediate vicinity of the culinary academy in the modern Hotel Kitchen59, which provided a pleasant and inspiring atmosphere for the group. In addition, they had the opportunity to enjoy a catered meal prepared by the Talents restaurant team, where HRC’s third semester students are trained.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Professional High School of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture “St. Georgi Pobedonosets” in Kostinbrod, to Mrs. Yordanka Trichkova and Mr. Iliya Angelov for their trust, as well as to all the participants who conquered the HRC kitchens with unceasing enthusiasm!
