About the Green Chef Project

The Green Chef project aims to fill a crucial gap in current culinary school curriculums by focusing on sustainability and plant-based diets. With a comprehensive set of objectives, the project will bring transformative changes to both students and educators in the hospitality and culinary fields.

Key Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. Raise Awareness of Climate Change and Sustainability:
    • Develop an engaging board/card game to educate secondary school students and teachers about climate change and sustainability in the context of food systems.
    • Create a digital platform for sharing low-carbon footprint recipes and accessing additional educational resources.
  2. Enhance Culinary Education and Skills:
    • Provide a board game that explores alternative recipes and ingredients with a lower carbon footprint.
    • Facilitate hands-on learning by allowing students to cook the recipes they develop during the game.
  3. Promote Digital Transformation and Cross-Border Collaboration:
    • Develop a user-friendly digital platform to support student learning and provide resources for teachers.
    • Foster international collaboration and cultural exchange among partners and educators.
  4. Empower Teachers with Innovative Teaching Methods:
    • Offer workshops to train teachers as “game masters” and enhance their confidence in using digital platforms for environmental education.
    • Support teachers in leading experiential, engaging sessions using the board game.
  5. Create a Sustainable Community Impact:
    • Extend the project’s impact beyond the classroom by engaging the wider community in climate change and sustainable food choices.
    • Empower students to advocate for sustainable culinary practices and involve their families and communities in the project.
