HRC Culinary Academy Represents Bulgaria at the Annual AEHT Conference 2025 in Sweden
17/11/2025
From November 3rd to 8th, representatives of HRC Culinary Academy took part in this year’s Annual Conference of AEHT (The European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools), held in Sweden. The Academy was represented by two talented third-semester students — Marina Mokrisheva and Dimitar Daskalov, their mentor, Head Chef-Instructor Viktor Svetoslavov, as well as the Director of HRC Culinary Academy, Yoana Mileva, who attended the AEHT General Assembly in her role as Bulgaria’s National Representative.
Participation in the Competition Disciplines
In the competitive section of the event, HRC Culinary Academy was represented by Marina Mokrisheva in the Pastry category and Dimitar Daskalov in the Bakery category.
Marina was required to create a dessert incorporating several mandatory elements: a brownie base, a baked component made with cream cheese, fruits (fresh, frozen, or puréed), a cream or mousse, a sauce or curd, and a final decoration. An additional challenge required participants to handwrite a short message in chocolate on an empty plate, with the exact wording announced by the jury immediately before the competition.
Meanwhile, Dimitar competed in the Bakery category, where he presented a variety of baked goods and breads, demonstrating technique, fermentation skills, and international teamwork. The disciplines required students to work in mixed teams with participants from other countries, with teams formed on the day of the competition, a format that encourages adaptability and effective communication.
HRC Represented in the Jury Panel
This year, HRC’s Head Chef-Instructor Viktor Svetoslavov was selected to be part of the judging panel in the Culinary Arts category, a recognition of his professional expertise and his contribution to the development of young culinary talent. His role in the jury is yet another testament to the high quality of teaching and professionalism at HRC Culinary Academy.
Bulgarian Presence at the AEHT General Assembly
Alongside the competition events, Yoana Mileva, Director of HRC Culinary Academy, represented Bulgaria at the AEHT General Assembly. During the meeting, participants discussed key upcoming changes within the organization, new initiatives, future events, and opportunities for strengthening international partnerships between culinary and hospitality schools across Europe.
Proud of Our Students
The participation of Marina and Dimitar once again highlights the strong position of HRC Culinary Academy among European culinary schools. Our students faced strong competition, worked side by side with international participants, and showcased impressive skills, confidence, and professionalism.
