HRC Culinary Academy has recently become a proud member of the European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools (AEHT). This prestigious International Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) holds consultative status with the Council of Europe and is dedicated to fostering a European perspective in hospitality education.

Established in 1988 by Jean-Paul Bernard and Martin Bruder, AEHT began with 24 schools from 16 European countries. Since then, it has experienced significant growth and now boasts a membership of approximately 400 institutions, with national representatives in 40 European countries.

The primary mission of AEHT is to facilitate collaboration among Hotel and Tourism Schools across Europe. It serves as a vital link between these institutions, promoting excellence in hospitality education, facilitating student and teacher exchanges, and fostering closer ties between academia and industry. Additionally, AEHT aims to develop innovative teaching methods and materials while facilitating the exchange of knowledge and skills among its members.

AEHT’s activities are focused on students and teachers, with a wide range of events organized to cater to their needs. The Academy of the European Association of Hospitality and Tourism Schools offers a variety of activities throughout the year, online seminars, the HEG conference aimed at teachers, directors and researchers and an Academic Program during the annual conference.

The organization is governed by an Executive Board composed of representatives from member countries, who elect a President and Vice-Presidents to lead the association. Administrative support for the organization is provided by the Secretary General based in Luxemburg, in accordance with the association’s statutes and house rules.

The inclusion of HRC Culinary Academy in AEHT signifies a big milestone and underscores its commitment to excellence in culinary education. HRC Culinary Academy gains access to a vast network of contributors, opportunities for collaboration, and resources to enhance its educational offerings.

As members of the Association, our students will have the opportunity to participate in an international culinary competition that will take place in the period November 4-9 in Riga, Latvia.

We are thrilled to join the European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools,” said Yoana Mileva, director at HRC Culinary Academy. “This partnership will enable us to further elevate our curriculum and contribute to the advancement of hospitality education on a European scale.”
