Culinary Competition: Creativity and Technique – Supported by “Ludogorsko Pile”

On October 31, one of the most exciting events of the season took place in the main kitchen of the Academy, a culinary competition organized with the special support of our partner “Ludogorsko Pile”.

The competition unfolded in two intense rounds:

Round 1 – Chicken Deboning
Participants demonstrated precision and speed as they deboned a whole chicken in the shortest possible time. Only six competitors advanced, earning their place with clean and accurate cuts.

Round 2 – Creativity, Taste, Technique, Hygiene, and Presentation
In this round, the students prepared a dish of their own creation. Each recipe had to include parts of the deboned chicken and selected ingredients from a pre-announced product list.

After tasting and evaluation by a jury of instructors, the finalists were announced:
• 🥇 1st Place: Mihail Marinov – 1,500 BGN / €766.96
• 🥈 2nd Place: Nikolay Georgiev – 1,000 BGN / €511.31
• 🥉 3rd Place: Karina Ninova – 500 BGN / €255.65

All participants showed professionalism, creativity, and dedication, qualities that reassure us the future of the culinary world is in good hands.

The awarded dishes were:
🥇Fried chicken roulade with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes
🥈Chicken breast with pear sauce and celery purée
🥉Chicken steak with chimichurri and aligot (а traditional French dish made from mashed potatoes mixed with melted cheese (traditionally tomme), and garlic, resulting in a rich, smooth, and elastic texture.)

In addition to the cash prizes, two special awards were given:

• Nikolay Georgiev received a certificate and recognition for “Audience Choice.”

• Vladimir Georgiev was awarded for “Fastest Performance.”

A Partnership with Purpose

The competition is part of the broader collaboration between the Academy and “Ludogorsko Pile,” who not only provided generous prizes but also support our educational mission through:

• Product sponsorship for the training kitchens;
• Two scholarships for Academy students;
• A special guest lecture.
