About Dobrich
Dobrich is situated in the North East of Bulgaria, some 35 kilometres from the Black Sea tourist area of Varna.
Bulgaria is located in Southeastern Europe, and borders the Black Sea to the east, Greece and Turkey to the south, Serbia and the Republic of Macedonia to the west, and Romania to the north. Bulgaria is an active member of NATO and joined the European Union on January 1, 2007. Bulgaria has become an attractive destination because of the quality of service and the affordable prices of accommodations that the country offers.
Bulgaria has enjoyed substantial growth in income from international tourism over the past decade. During the winter months, Borovetz, Bansko and Pamporovo are popular ski resorts.
Varna and the surrounding Black Sea region is appropriately known as “The Summer Capital” of Bulgaria because in the summer months the region really comes alive. The beautiful Black Sea coastal resorts give visitors and residents direct access to clean stretches of untouched sandy beach and beautiful clear waters of the sea. Varna and its surrounding resorts host hundreds of hotels, restaurants, historical and cultural attractions.
The Academy is conveniently located in the city centre of Dobrich, a nice city with a population of 100,000. With over 3,000 students at 5 Colleges and Universities, the city of Dobrich can best be described as an educational centre in Bulgaria .
Where to live
Studying should not just be working hard. Having fun with fellow students is just as important. Work together, learn together and live together. HRC Culinary Academy has it’s own student campus within walking distance of the school. The Campus has a lounge area for students where they can cook and eat together and a yard where they can relax in the summer months. The prices start from euro 75 per month for a bed in a twin room. Keep in mind: limited availability!
Alternatively students are offered accommodation in double rooms at a three-star hotel, situated close to the Academy (http://www.bulgaria-dobrich.com/) at preferential financial terms and conditions. The prices start from 112 euro per month for a bed in a twin room. A single room will be provided upon request and additional payment.
Students who prefer to rent accommodation (room in a flat or a house) can do this individually at a price of 50 – 100 euro per month. The Academy team will assist in finding accommodation.
