At a culinary school, you will receive a structured, all-round training in Culinary Arts. You will start with the basics and continue to obtain a solid foundation in good cooking. Culinary schools provide excellent career opportunities in the hotel and tourism industry.

The HRC Academy offers quality culinary education at an affordable price. Our courses cover everything from knife skills and sauce-making to budgeting and menu engineering. All of our classes are taught by excellent chef instructors and guest chefs from around the world. State-of-the-art facilities offer a realistic environment similar to those in first-class hotels and restaurants. Our industry placements offer you the chance to train with some of the best chefs at hotels and restaurants in Europe and the USA. The instruction language at the Academy is English. Once you graduate, you will not only have a valuable culinary diploma, but you will also have mastered another language. Keep in mind you have to arrange your travel expenses to your training location, either in Europe or the USA. Depending on your location and host employer, you may need to arrange a visa fee or insurance fees as well. Your salary during your placement will be sufficient to make up for those expenses, and save some additional money.

The program lasts 2 years, including 2 paid industry placements of 5 months each.

You can apply online or complete and mail an application form to the HRC Culinary Academy. You can apply 1 year in advance of your preferred enrolment date.

Studying should not just be working hard. Having fun with fellow students is just as important. Work together, learn together and live together. HRC Culinary Academy has it’s own student campus within walking distance of the school. The Campus has a lounge area for students where they can cook and eat together and a yard where they can relax in the summer months. The prices start from euro 75 per month for a bed in a twin room. Keep in mind: limited availability!

Alternatively students are offered accommodation in double rooms at a three-star hotel, situated close to the Academy (http://www.bulgaria-dobrich.com/) at preferential financial terms and conditions. The prices start from 112 euro per month for a bed in a twin room. A single room will be provided upon request and additional payment.

Students who prefer to rent accommodation (room in a flat or a house) can do this individually at a price of 50 – 100 euro per month. The Academy team will assist in finding accommodation.

The instruction language at the Academy in English. Teaching materials are written in English as well.

No. At the time of application you do not need to speak English fluently. Depending on your current knowledge of the English language, you will be encouraged to take English classes prior to starting the culinary course. These classes are provided by the International College Albena. Once you start your studies at the culinary Academy you should have working knowledge of the English language.

With a solid culinary education and an understanding of the English language, you will be able to work anywhere in the world as a chef. Choose yourself: continue your career at hotels and resorts, fine restaurants or perhaps even a cruise liner sailing the world. Throughout your journey of experiences you will develop more skills, gain more knowledge and eventually become an Executive Chef. However, you must be realistic; this does not happen overnight. The HRC Culinary Academy provides you with culinary fundamentals and helps you with personal development; the rest is up to you.

Certainly. HRC International will assist you with your final industry placement among its extensive network of hotels and restaurants. Often these placements lead to job offers. Academy graduates are at all times supported by HRC International throughout their career advancement.

No. Even though some of our students have experience before they begin, this is not required. As a prospective HRC Academy student, you will only need a high school diploma and a passion for food.
