Admissions procedure for NON European Union students

It is important to know that all NON European Union students can only apply for the September intake due to Bulgarian Ministry of Education regulations.

Phase 1

  • Applicants must fill out the online registration form.
  • Wait for an information letter from HRC Culinary Academy with relevant information to continue to phase 2.

Deadlines:
July 1 of the current year being applied for.

 

Phase 2

  • Applicant must pay the a non refundable registration fee of 75 Euros net and send via email the following scanned documents:
    • Bank receipt for the payment of the registration fee
    • High school diploma
    • Passport
    • Valid proof of English knowledge certificate
      • TOEFL
      • IELTS
      • Cambridge first or advanced level
  • Wait for a response email from HRC Academy for the interview dates.

Deadlines:
July 15 of current year being applied for.

 

Phase 3

  • Formal interview with HRC Culinary Academy
    • The applicant will be assessed based on:
      • Motivation
      • English interaction with the interviewer
      • Maturity
    • HRC Culinary Academy will send notification via email of the applicants acceptance status into the academy with in 5 working days of the interview date
  • The registration fee of 75 Euros less the corresponding bank charges will be reimbursed to the applicant if he/she does not pass the formal interview.

 

Phase 4

The applicant must send to HRC Culinary Academy with the following documents:

  • Notarized copy of the Diploma of completion for Higher Secondary Education including the compulsory subjects.
    • THE DIPLOMA SHOULD BE CERTIFIED BY THE RESPECTIVE AUTHORITIES (Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the resident’s country)
    • Translated into English language
    • Attested and legalized by the Bulgarian consulate at the nearest Bulgarian diplomatic mission.
  • CERTIFICARE issued by the Ministry of Education in the residence country in proof that the academic credentials of the applicant gives him\her the right and the access to university education in the country of residence.
    • Translated into English language
  • Original Health Certificate
    • Issued not longer than a month prior to the date of the visa application
    • Attested by the Ministry of HEALTH, Ministry of Foreign affairs
    • Legalized by the Bulgarian consulate at the nearest Bulgarian diplomatic mission.
    • FOUR identical and recent colored passport size photos
    • Original and valid of proof of English knowledge certificate.
      • TOEFL
      • IELTS
      • Cambridge first or advanced level
  • Once these documents are received by HRC Culinary Academy, they will be sent to the Bulgarian Ministry of Education for approval. This process may take up to 20 working days.

 

Phase 5

  • HRC Culinary Academy will send notification via email of the applicant’s approval status from the Bulgarian Ministry of Education.
  • Applicant must pay the relevant HRC Academy Culinary fees and send via email a scanned copy of the transaction receipt.
  • The fees are as follows:
  Tuition fee for semester 1 and 2:   € 3136,00
  Food fee only for semester 1:   € 285,00
  Uniforms and knives fee:   € 250,00
  Total   € 3671,00

 

Phase 6

  • This phase will not proceed unless HRC Culinary Academy receives the confirmation of payment receipt for the complete amount stated in Phase 5.
  • HRC Academy will send a relevant document package which the applicant will include to the documents needed for the application of the Bulgarian visa D.
  • Additionally, the applicant must have the following documents for his/her Bulgarian visa D application:
    • Three identical and recent colored passport size photos
    • Valid Passport for the period of stay in Bulgaria
    • Filled application form for Bulgarian visa D
    • Original Bank receipt of Tuition fee payment
    • Original bank statements of bank accounts showing proof of income dating to at least three months prior to the date of visa application.
  • The application for the Bulgarian visa D takes as approximately 20 working days.

 

Phase 7

  • Once the applicant has been granted the visa D he/she can proceed with:
    • Booking and paying for a flight
    • Informing HRC Culinary Academy of arrival date and time

 

 

Payment information

  1. The payment scheme for Non European Union students at the HRC Culinary Academy is as follow:
    1. First Payment
      • Tuition fee for semester 1 and 2:€ 3136,00
        Food fee for semester 1:€ 285,00
        Uniforms and knives fee:€ 250,00
        Total€ 3671,00
      • Fees for the First Payment must be paid in full prior to applying for the Bulgarian visa D.
    2. Second payment
      • Tuition fee for semester 3 and 4:€ 3136,00
        Food fee for semester 3€ 285,00
        Total€ 3421,00
      • Fees for the Second Payment must be paid in before the student departs for his/her Industry placement.
  2. If the Bulgarian embassy does not grand the visa D to the applicant
    1. HRC Culinary Academy will refund all fees except for the non-refundable registration fee less the corresponding bank charges.
  3. If the Student decides to terminate his or her relationship with HRC Culinary Academy for personal health reasons (medical proof may be requested), HRC Culinary Academy will refund based on the following criteria specified below:
    1. Full refund of food fee and the tuition fees, less the corresponding bank charges prior to start date of the (1st or 3rd semester).
    2. 75% refund of the Tuition fees, less the corresponding bank charges if termination is within the first 2 months of the (1st or 3rd) semester.
    3. 50% refund of the Tuition fees, less the corresponding bank charges if termination occurs after the first two months of the (1st or 3rd) semester.
    4. No refund after completion of the (1st or 3rd) semester.
  4. For all other reasons other than mention in (3), HRC Culinary Academy will refund based on the criteria mentioned below:
    1. 75% refund of the tuition fees, less the corresponding bank charges prior to start date of the semester.
    2. 50% refund of the tuition fees, less the corresponding bank charges if termination is within the first 2 months of the (1st or 3rd) semester.
    3. No refund after the first two months of the (1st or 3rd) semester.
  5. All refunds will be wired back to the account where the initial payment was sent from within one month of the Students termination with HRC Culinary Academy.
  6. If the Student decides to terminate his or her relationship with HRC Culinary Academy for any reason, his/her Bulgarian visa D will be cancelled.
